These are just picks of the Versa concept they had before the V came out....am I wrong?

Yes. Most ppl familiar with Nissan and/or Google have seen these many times already.

But I'll still stare & drool for a minute.

I wish our front grill looked like that. The grill on the current Versa is straight ugly...

The only thing I think is a little "over the top" is the 5-point harnesses--especially in the back seats, but even in the driver's seat, I mean really... how many HP would this Sport concept have? 170? Maybe if you turn really sharply or brake suddenly you MIGHT need a harness.

Nice body though. And I love the dash.

Question is: Why hasn't someone made a body kit that looks like that? I might really consider one if it looked 90% like that... and fit well...

All other Versa/TIIDA kits are hideous. Those "skirt" add-on's are the worse!

Seriously though, I love the Versa but there just isn't enough aftermarket support. If more parts don't start coming out, I might just have to look into designing my own lip kit, grill, etc...

I'd settle for the Nismo lip kit but I'm not sure if that's ever going to make its way to the U.S.

You are correct. At the time of the concept reveal, Nissan made it clear that it was only a design study for the future of their small car. And true to their word, the concept gave the Versa its general shape. And, I think, it's the reason why some of us sees it as something that could be a performance car. The shape is sleek and the flavor is there. Did they miss an opportunity by not providing a sports version of the Versa? Perhaps. But, if you look at how the economy has been and how its affected the after market industry, you can argue that they made the correct call.

Carlos Ghosn have said (about a year ago?) that he wants Nissan to have electric cars by 2010. So all you MPG conscious drivers, you have that to look forward to from Nissan. There are a lot of new cars in the pipeline, some of which will be revealed next month at the LA Auto Show. Exciting times are ahead!
