Nissan takes SCCA GT3

Jackson's Blue S13 won the SCCA GT3 championship this year :)



Final Race Results

1st - Collin Jackson in the Blue S13 #532nd - Dave Humphrey in the Red S13 #73

Next Nissan was a KA24E powered 350Z that came in 8th.

The S14s were running over each other and one was spun out by an RX7, the other ended his day early when he ran into another car that had spun out.

All Nissan's were running the KA24E engines

Other Classes:In GT5 the #00 200SX piloted by Jim Rauck came in 3rdIn SSC the #77 200SX piloted by Muramoto came in a dissapointing 28thIn GP the #80,68,03,17 Datsuns/Nissans took 2nd - 5th! (510 ownage!) In T2 the #12 350Z piloted by Kline took 3rd In GT4 the #10 200SX piloted by Keith Grant took 1st! (200SX > Hondas) In GT2 the #46 350Z piloted by James Goughery took 1st! (beating a Porsche 911 out :) ) In EP the #01 and #56 240Z's took 2nd and 3rd

Saw that race a while back, what were they powered by?And a KA24E-powered Z33?!

Missed that bit, but still, that's extremely interesting. Would ya happen to know what's done to the engines and their specs/outputs?

Believe it or not they aren't going for full out power since the more power they get, the more weight they have to carry which hurts handling and braking.

They use the KA since it has exceptional torque while giving moderate HP

So did they use the old KA's to stay in a certain class?(or was it all because of the light-weight issue)

..and how much power were they putting?

why wouldn't they use the DE than, i thought that they weighed the same?

That SCCA NASPORT GT3 class limits them to using the SOHC KA. They are not allowed to use EFI, and are required to use intake restrictors. They try to make the whole series a driver's race by equalizing the cars in each class as much as possible.

Exactly... they also are subject to additional weight to equalize them.

One of the main things the 240 has going for it is that even with the restrictors... the 2.4L makes more torque than the 4AGE and rotaries used by the competition.
