Nissan Sunny_1996 Stalling/Jerks on increasing the RPM or irregular rpm in Idle

Hi there,

Can any one help me suggest what's the problem...

I have a Nissan Sunny Manual 1996, FB14,

The cars runs fine when the engine is cold (Fresh during early morning). Go 5 to 6 kms, starts stalling or jerks when shifting to 2 and 3rd gear or as soon as engine rpm is raised.

The car drives fine otherwise but the problem keeps resurfacing quite often

Thought it was clutch problem, had replaced the clutch , showed again to mechanic , They say its not the clutch (Possible Air flow meter).

So Far i have checked the hoses attached to air intake, changed the air filter, cleaned the IAV, replaced the engine coolant sensor, changed the spark plug cable(Disturbutor cable).. No respite

In one of the forums i had read it can be EGR valve....Changing Airflow meter is a expensive affair, Any suggestion at all ,

Any possible solutions is highly appreciated

That sounds like an air issue, but before you replace the airflow sensor, look around for a vacuum leak. Any unmetered air is going to be a problem, and if the leak is small then it may not be apparent until the car is warm.

I cleaned the EGR Valve tubing(The Exhaust tube leading to the valve).. I have driven for 80 kms and the problem seems to be fixed.. There was a lot of black smug,sticking on the tube..

Hope this will solve my problem...how do you check if the egr is working properly... can the egr be disconnected from the system...

If you disconnect the EGR, your ECU will throw an error code. I'm not sure what that'd mean for you in your country, but here that makes it illegal to operate on public roads.
