Nissan Sentra

I have a 1992 Nissan Sentra with charging problems. I replaced the alternator because I was having battery charging problems. I now see that the battery light and brake light are on and battery is not charging.

Could it still be a bad alternator or is there some other problem.

Have you had the battery itself tested? Autozone should do it for free.

I put a good battery in and the both lights still stay on. I'm going to take the new alternator off again and have it tested. My have damaged it when I took the battery cable off the first time to see if it would run on just the alternator. Just hoping someone had seen this problem before.
