Is this mag showing it's age? The conventional wisdom nowadays is more boost, less revs is it not?

I think it's even better that the magazine is so old that the price of the pistons and rods is astronomical compared to now.

In answer to your question, the more boost, less revs things wasn't really a viable option then. Turbo technology has blown up over the last 5-7yrs. Back then, to have a turbo that would make lots of boost, and spool quickly, was a dream. Things are different now, with T2 flanged turbos capable of well over 400HP.
