Hi All,
Been lurking around time to time since I had several Nissans over the years, and I need some help from experts on this forum.

I currently have 2010 Pathfinder SE (V6 model with 4WD), and reaching just below 30K miles. I don't drive this vehicle much (~7K miles per year), and I am due for an oil change without a doubt. I was quoted about $800 for premium maintenance where they replace lots of fluids as outlined in the manual.

I don't service my vehicle and have been religiously service it through a dealer. Considering my situation, do I really need to do premium service or just do an oil change? I am thinking of waiting until 60K miles to do premium but not really an expert in terms of vehicle maintenance.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Welcome to NicoClub!

What all is included in the premium service, exactly, and what have you had changed already? Your maintenance schedule shows that only the air and cabin filters need to be changed in addition to the oil change. All of the fluids show they only need to be inspected at this point. You can see the recommended maintenance intervals here:

Up to you if you want to err on the side of caution and go with their recommendation, but don't be afraid to call them out and ask for the justification for the things they want to do.

Thanks!

I ended up flushing coolant, brake, and power steering fluids. I originally asked for an oil change as you pointed out but they needed to be flushed.

I don't know much about newer years, but my 02 QX4 has been super reliable and I have "abused" it by skipping quite a few major services, just oil change instead either by a cheaper place or by myself. I do air filter change, the easiest service, and one time coolant change myself.

It has 97K miles now.

I've gone through about 6(?) Nissan's including Infiniti's and have been pretty happy with them...until I bought 2010 models. I had 2 2006 Nissan's prior to those and they have been extremely reliable so I am not surprised to hear that your car is reliable.

Well, thanks for the posts!
