I was looking for what the Q was called in Japan, I forgot - Cima code Y33 Cedric, Gloria, Leopard (all based on the Y33).This history page goeas into a lot of detail in the 240's as well as just about all of the nissan cars from 88 (last year the s12 200sx was made). This page (nissan's variable valve timing ) says that the similar VTECH on Hondas was actually created by Nissan in 1986!? Pretty cool

Our Q is the G50, conveniently called the Q45 in Japan as well.

The President is the long-wheelbase version of the G50 platform.

So the body style of the Q in Japan is still the Q we have here? It never was called anything else? No Cima or Cedric body parts will fit on the Q?

i think the Cedric and Cima stuff will fit but with lots of work. im not 100% sure if it was the same car, or just built on the same platform. i know something on the Bomex site mentions the Q45 in the Y33 and Y32 sections.

Infiniti DOES exist in the Japanese market.

Our car (90-96 Q45), aka G50, is called the Q45 in Japan.

Cima = 97-01 Q45, aka Y33, nothing from this car will fit the G50. However, the Cima name returned in 2002, and the JDM 02+ Q45 is called the Cima.

Laurel - JDM-only platform, shares NOTHING with the G50 or Y33.

Gloria = M45.
