Yello!

soooooooo. the thing that was bothering me for quite a while. luckily for users - engine has engine oil pressure sensor. unfortunately for us, users - the way FSM is written... is ... let's call it in a "twisted way".
in EC.pdf (engine control) P0524 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE has this lovely info:
t32-engine.oil.pressure-voltage.png
t32-engine.oil.pressure-voltage.png (16.86 KiB) Viewed 240 times
but NO information on what is actual pressure.
I literaly for years couldn't figure it out.

tonight I had eureka moment.
after googling "qr25de oil pressure data"- stumbled upon LU.pdf(lubrication) online with additional data:
t32-engine.oil.pressure-voltage.vs.pressure.png
so, if I add 1+1 I am getting (skipping coolant temp etc):
idle = 1.45V = 14psi ~1bar
2000 = 2.85v = 43psi ~3bar (a little bit less)
6000 = ?v = 57psi ~4bar (a little bit less).
am I correct?
is there any way I can find voltage data for 6000 rpm?

It's odd that they don't show a graph for the sensor output, but resistive sensors are generally very linear. So it's probably fine to extrapolate the 6K RPM figure from the pressure spec to the voltage spec. If a movement of 29 psi causes 1400mv of movement, that's 48.28mV/psi. (57-14) * 48.28 = 2076mV + 1450mV = 3526mV @ 6K.

I was hoping for another "secret location" with data... but this also will do for now.

probably, nissans train of thought was that at 6k rpm it doesn't matter - there is oil and pressure. most problematic situations are at idle up to 2k :D

thanks again!

No, it's actually annoying that they did it this way. If you browse the FSM for other, similar sensors, you'll find they practically all have some sort of graph showing range and scale. That can be important at the top and bottom, because when non-linearity does occur, that's generally where it occurs. That Nissan would omit a graph for something as important as the EOP strikes me as borderline malpractice.

thank God!
I am not the only psycho in this world who thinks that this is not good... :))))

and yes - like oil temperature sensor has info right where it is mentioned - in EC.pdf.

anyway - I am happy I was able at least get this information :))) in couple of weeks t32 engine will be half disassembled - I will do measurements with wider range of data points :)
