I have a Nissan Rogue (SL AWD, 2008) with less than 20K miles. Two days ago, my car stalled out after I shifted it from park to drive. It has never done that before and the weather was 60 degrees and dry. Then yesterday, I was going around a corner and it started to make "put put" sounds and jerking like it was going to stall out. I stepped on the gas to keep it going, but I was afraid it was going to stall and not start again.

I've read a number of people have had problems with their transmission. I too, have heard weird noises, but haven't mentioned it when having it serviced since my car seemed to be operating fine...until recently. Has anyone had this same issue? Any advice is welcome. Thank you.

I am quite familiar with this forum and don't remember hearing of a similar problem, and definately this is not a common or widespread problem that Rogue owners have reported here. Beyond that, it is very hard to say why your vehicle may be stalling out, it could be related to the engine control unit, vacuum leak, etc.. I think the only way to diagnose this is to take it to the dealer, they will diagnose and repair it free under warranty.

We have a very active and helpful group here on the NICO Rogue forum, so I'm sure as others read this you will get other suggestions of possible causes, but most likely it will be a dealer diagnose and repair required. We would be very interested to know what the eventual diagnosis is, so if you could please post the results of this after visiting the dealer we would appreciate it.

And if anyone here has ideas please post them up for discussion!
