That worked. I'm not even sure what I'm looking at with that second pic, but the first one appears to be a piece of assembly tape left over from the factory. It's used to help the channels slide in cleanly but they're supposed to remove it after installation. I doubt it damaged the channel, but post a pic with the window down. If the channel is visibly distorted in any way or the window doesn't operate smoothly because of a bump in it, then it should be replaced. Otherwise there's no reason to replace anything.
