Nissan rogue 2012 no longer starting

what can cause a car from not starting. I was listening to music through my ipod with the AC on and all of the sudden it all turned off. I start the car it turns on for a few secs and turns off. I searched on youtube and found a video that does something similar but now it just won't turn on and the lights are dim but couldn't find an answer. it seems from google search it could be a battery problem.
