Hello all,

I recently purchased an '08 Nissan rogue, currently with 95kkm, bought it at 84kkm.
I have looked trough previous posts on this issue, but non with actual sound of the transmission noise. I describe it as a droning. The noise occurs at 2400 rpm at, sometimes in close proximity to that, usually on accelerations above 80km/h (50m/h). It's hard to keep it at that exact rpm, so you'll hear in my attached videos that my car makes the sound on and off.

Possible explanations i've found here or from dealer:
-It's a normal noise for CVT
-belt slapping noise
-awd decoupling
-Heat shield resonating
-other reasons which raise concern

I took it to get inspected at Nissan and they said they couldn't reproduce the noise (yeah cause you didn't drive it in EXACLTY the condititions I told you about.) I replaced the transmission fluid, which they said was showing some wear at the time, and they told me I have the exterior fluid cooler installed already on the car.

I'm getting close to the 10yr mark and end of warranty. Let me know what you all think!

Hard to tell in such a short video exactly where the noise is coming from. Could be a decoupling noise, I've heard similar sound on my 05 pathfinder when going from 4wd to 2wd on the highway.

Doesn't sound like transmission whine to me... Can you produce at low speeds?

My 2010 makes a sound like a vibration of metal on metal at certain rpms, then you step on the gas and it goes away. When warm, the transmission will make a whining noise as well, but it goes away at cruising speed (1700-2200 rpm).

No, I can't get it to make the noise at low speeds. I've lock the Rogue in AWD, and i still get the ringing/droning noise, so I don't think it could be the decoupler.
