Well Folks,I'm Evan, aka "EQWhipD", just wanting to introduce myself. Thanks to Wes, I finally have access to post on the forum; a little password mixup! Well, I have had my car for two months now, and I have grown extremely tired of the piepans. They were unique at first, but I do think that those rims are the only elements of the car that remind people that the car is 10 years old.So long story short, I wanted to replace them with more modern Nissan OEM rims; preferably from Altimas and Maximas. I wanted to replace them with newer Infiniti "I" or "Q" model rims, but those things are impossibel to come by. I really liked the way CJ's rims looked on his car under "Member Rides" off of the main page of Q45.org. That is my goal, any suggestions on Nissan rims? Thanks.

Do a quick search, Jason "HeavyDuty" put a set of 18" Maxima wheels on his white Q45. They look amazing. I think hes offering them for sale too.

Thanks Jesda. I took a look the rim, and it looks does look amazing, but it also looks too big for the wheel well. I really don't want to compromise the ride or maneuverability (is that a word?) factors. That's why I like CJ's rim, because it looks to be 17', which is I think the most a Q can handle. I admit that I could be wrong about the 18' wheels, but maybe "HeavyDuty"s car was lowered or something that made the rim look too big. Also for all of those who have changed rim size, could you provide the forum with testimonials regarding ride quality or steering difficulties please. Also, if the car was lowered, and the rim does properly fit in wheel well, I would be extremely interested in purchasing. The piepans have had there day, and now it is time to put them to rest. Que Descanse En Paz...Thanks again Jesda! -Evan

I love my 18's, even with a 1" drop.

Some loss of acceleration, but the JWT ECU and 4.08 MORE than compensated.

I feel you man, this is my second Q and i've made that comment several times. I bought 18's, had them delivered yesterday. I'm optimistic they'll be a great update to the look. 18's are certainly not to big for the Q, I've seen 'em w/ 19's and 20's. But i think 18's are the 'perfect' visual fit.

If your going with aftermarket wheels with 17 or so, you MUST lower it... IMHO and no offense to those, it looks retarted if the Q isnt lowered and sitting on rims... With stock ride height to look good you need at least 18.. Lower it, with 245/45-17 and youll be in good shape.. I like my 17/18 combo as well, but i dont like the tire life.....

If you want a clean look, lower the car with 16in Y33 wheels.. Those are very nice.. Kind of like SUPER piepans..

i also like the I35 wheels...

As far as ride is concerned, i think the lowering springs do most of the ride change... I havent actually ridden in another Q45 with bigger wheels and stock suspension, but id assume it wouldnt bemuch different... While the ride isnt as cushy with the eibach springs, its very firm and responsive, and I like it. Makes the Q feel more sporty than it does luxury-ish...

Glad we got your password dilemma worked out Evan, and i kinda wished you would have notified me sooner!
