Nissan rebadges Mazda 5 as Lafesta Highway STAR

I am not quite sure why Nissan would rebadge the Mazda 5/Premacy since Mazda already sells them in Japan and Nissan is only selling to Japan. Nissan is also naming in Lafesta Highway STAR????

Wish Nissan just went ahead and cloned a smaller version of the Quest/Elgrand...

So they Geo Prizm'd it. I guess the strategy is to keep people in Nissan showrooms from going to another brand, so even if the profit is zero, the market share is retained.

I like all things Mazda, but imagine getting dents on that wavy door and trying to have them fixed.

I hope Mazda looks at that and says "Hey, look how much better our cars look without the ridiculous fish mouthed smiles!"

Then I hope they get rid of those terrible waves in the doors. Just...why?

I am actually waiting to take delivery of the new Mazda van this month.

Have you seen what the old Lafesta looked like. BLEH!!! Plus the interior was cheap and ugly looking.

Now, had our Nissan dealer in town had a new Lafesta, I may have taken a look, but alas, they didn't. The Mazda has actually kinda grown on me, anyway.

I am going to call this van Lafiesta because it keeps coming to my head... But the Lafiesta looks like a mix of the first mazda 1st gen and 2nd gen mazda5. I do like the mazdas and almost got one instead of the cube.

Would def be curious to see if the Nissan sells more than the Mazda
