I just moved to japan I bought a Nissan R'nessa its a great buy and its an awsome ride. Does anyone know what the "Power A/T Snow" button does??? I would really Appreciate the help. By the way does anyone have any idea on how the petition for getting japanese cars of any sort legalized in the states is going?

With the ATESSA AWD system the snow mode starts the car off with 50/50 power distribution (up to 12mph) instead of the normal 25/75.

I have no idea about current petitions, it all depends on the NHTSA and other Gov agencies. If you are specifically asking about Skyline legalization then I would not hold my breath on the Gov making any changes to the import rules.

The "Snow" button limits power to the wheels through the transmission so you limit the chance of giving the car too much power when in snow. It actually works quite well. My brother-in-law's Elgrand has it. 2wd and it's pretty stable in the snow (when we were up in the mountains last year).

The power setting just gives the engine higher shift points in hard acceleration.

Where in Japan are you located? Let me know where ya are and maybe we can meet up sometime.

I have this Sunday (Jan 24th) free.

Oh, wait. I just remembered. You're up in Misawa. You're hella far from me.
