SPOON is a company. I believe an actualy spoon engine, is a crate engine built by them, but they also make all sorts of other performance parts for Hondas.

yep exactly. Along with mugen.
Nissan has nismo and tons of other support. TODA makes race engines too. From modified mugen engines to FERRARI MODENA F360GT engines

Spoon sells whole cars as well, or at least they did, I remember being told that you could walk into a spoon shop and buy their civic they had on their showroom floor.

Mugen is an offshoot of Honda though, just like Nismo is an offshoot of Nissan. TODA and Spoon are pure aftermarket companies, like Tommy Kaira or Mine's, which while they do indeed sell whole cars at times, they have no actual connection to the real automakers.
