While driving my Nissan Quest I can feel the brakes slowly tightening as if I am applying the brakes and the van slowly becomes undrivable for about 20 to 30 min before the brakes release and I am released to continue my trip. Passenger side seems to be the problem because smoke comes from that side. Smelling burning brakes.
Have replaced caliper twice and changed pads. Still happens.
Just tested and caliper seems to be working fine but as always my drive will be interrupted once again.
Any one have a solution?

I wonder if there's a bad valve in your ABS module or something. It should allow fluid to return from the circuit to the master. If you apply the brakes, it will probably continue to hold that caliper, which will then heat the fluid up, increase the pressure, close the caliper more, and such the death spiral will continue.

The only time I ever saw a problem like that was on an older Ford escort.
Turns out that the rubber brake line to one of the front calipers had collapsed internally.
It looked normal from outside, but when I replaced it, it was pinched inside, preventing the fluid from "backing up" and thus not releasing the caliper.
Ultimately, it was a cheap fix, parts wise, but it took a while to find the problem.
Cost me a rotor and pads before I figured it out too. Caliper was fine.
