Power, displacement, and aesthetics don't mean jack squat until the car gets a proper gearbox back under it.

As far as I'm concerned, the Maxima died in 2006.

Agree with MOD. I like how smooth the new Maxima is, and I have to admit I prefer its interior to mine. (Def would love to swap out my seats for some 7 gens...). Hell, even the exterior styling is starting to grow on me..
But even as my '04 is burning some oil and the timing chain guides are starting to rattle, I plan on just swapping in another engine and keep my 6sp rather than "upgrade" to a newer Maxima..
