The PR is basically a QR with some upgrades for direct injection. We don't hear a whole lot of reliability issues from them, as they typically far outlive the continuously variable transmissions that are bolted to them.

The only repetitive issue we see with the PR is carbon screwing up the Throttle Bodies. Although they have a siamese port/direct injector setup which prevents big carbon on the intake valves, they still spout carbon back into the TB through the PCV like any DGI engine. I think maybe the mixed injection exacerbates that in some way, because we do seem to see a lot of crappy TB's on the gen6 Altimas. To prevent that, keep it on a regular diet of Techron or SeaFoam in the fuel.

I have a 1995 Ford F-150 that does the same thing. Gasses from the PCV gum up the TB plates real bad. I plumbed in a catch can between PCV and TB and it has helped quite a bit.
Don't know if that would be feasible on the Nissan though.

I haven't seen anyone do that, but the way the PCV is plumbed right on top of the PR25, I don't see why you couldn't.
