What trannys would fit on my 86.5 4x4 5 Speed 4 cylinder. I can't really find any at all just the v6 but I'm not shure if it's compatible . I'm new to the website

Welcome to NICO!
That's a good question. Upgrading or swapping to a more readily available transmission sounds like it would be useful.
Do you have access to the transmission that's in the truck right now? Can you measure things like the input shaft, and take pictures and such?
Other members on here may also have some transmissions laying around and may be able to provide feedback based on what they have.

V6 trans won't work and won't bolt up to your Tcase.

What I don't know is the difference in bellhousing bolt pattern on a Z24 vs. a KA motor...for a potentially later model trans to fit. 4 banger trucks used the same Tcase from 86.5 until the end of 4 cyl 4x4 production in 99 or 2000....The difference between a 4 cyl and a V6 Tcase is the input shaft spline count (22 v.30)
