My problem with Nissan is that they haven't released an economy performance car in how long? Especially in the US... My 200SX in Germany wasn't half bad, but compare it to it's equivalent that we got in the states and wow...

Then again, the same goes for pretty much every Japanese brand aside from Mazda (and they're Ford for the most part).

Those "Fender Vents" are 100% functional. They are air inlets used when fording high water that goes above the radiator. It is also where the snorkel attaches:



The Patrol and Land Cruiser are the real deal, not some fake soccer mom mall wagons.

The fender vents on the old Patrol might have been functional. The chrome crap on the new one is most likely not functional. Just the latest in a long line of cars to glue chrome on the fenders because it's the latest fad. Did you even click the link in the OP?
