I have a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder XE with an automatic transmission and I was wondering how hard it would be to swap an S14 SR20DET motor into it.

probably same difficulty as dropping a chevy big block 409 into the same pathfinder but 409 would blow thee sr20 out of the water Pathfinder is heavy. You dont want a 2.0L turbo in it, even if its built and 25 psi all u need is MONEY (and for lots of money we need to send kouki to vegas)

The weight I'm not too concerned about. The car is only about 800 some pounds heavier than the S14 Silvia. Plus when you swap out the motor it will be lighter cause it's smaller. I'm also lightening the car and I'm planning on topping the motor out around close to 400 HP.

Actually now I'm thinking about just swapping out the heads with ones from a 300ZX Non Turbo. Will that work?

Might as well swap the whole 300z engine.

Well, it's been done to a D21 pickup -- why not a Pathfinder? But an R50, I've never heard of it being done.

I was actually wondering how difficult it would be to make VG30ET turbo parts work on it. . A friend of mine had a 98 Sentra SE back in the day, and for about a grand he ended up with everything from a Bluebird to make it turbo -- and it worked, very well.

My understanding is you need to get the compression dropped a smidge if you want to turbo our VG33's. Something about the rods and crank not being able to handle that much compression or somethingorother...

Dunno, was a while since I looked into that, though rethinking it after reading about Saab's success with low pressure turbos and upping power and mpg simultaneously...
