Hey guys, I have a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder thats currently in the process of being full bagged and dropped. My next step is trying to figure out what wheels I want to use. The problem is most 6 lug wheels are meant for SUVs and trucks that aren't going to be dropped. I was thinking of the possibility of doing a 5 lug conversion for the front of my car. I currently has 6x139.7 to 5x114.3 adaptors for the rear, but when i mounted them on the front. They didn't sit flush with everything. I want to be able to open up my options when it comes to picking wheels. any advance would be greatly appreciated.

Heres what the car currently looks like. Its bagged in the rear and the front has coilovers with shorter swift springs. The fitment is one finger upfront and two fingers in the rear.

Most of the info here is to try to keep these things running vs. cosmetic changes or even really much in the way of off road stuff. If I knew anything about it I would help.

Unfortunately, I can't help either. I'm in the function/ form camp when it comes to the R50s... but stick around. There is a user by the name Hawairish. I believe he's one of the few who've wandered off the beaten path with these vehicles. Pretty active and has helpful contributions when/if he rolls by.

Lol, thanks EdBwoy!

Yeah, in terms of 5-lug conversions, it will be very difficult without just using the adapters you're already aware of. The reason it's difficult is because:

1) For the front, you'd have to find a suitable donor vehicle with a wheel hub that would fit. Ideally, this could be accomplished with wheel bearings that have the inner diameters to match the OE spindle, and the right OD to match the donor hub. But this approach would require a fair amount of research because you'd also have to match up ABS sensor/ring position, account for the overall thickness of the bearing packs, and possibly make modifications to the disc brake setup.

2) For the rear, you could always pull the axle shafts and have them drilled to the bolt pattern...there are a few companies that can do that...but then you also need to have it done to the brake drums (although they might need to be re-balanced when done).

Bottom line is that it's complicated to do without having a suitable donor to make it bolt-on-ish. Nissan had a few vehicles where this was relatively simple (the 240SX models, for instance), but it's not the case here. Even if you took the approach above, the cost would likely be unreasonable.

Though, I'm surprised you've had difficulty finding suitable wheels in the 6x5.5 pattern. Toyota and Chevy trucks share the pattern, and I've seen no shortage of options there. If there's a certain stance or tuck you're looking for, do you know what offset or backspacing you need?
