100 kilometer = 62.14 miles18 liters = 4.75 gallons

So he would be getting 13.08 miles/gallon which seems really low. I think the worst I have ever done is 18 miles per gallon city.

In mixed freeway and city driving I get 20-21 mpg. If I drive straight city driving I get 14-16 mpg. On the open road at a steady 70 mph I get 23-25 mpg depending on the wind and terrain.

I keep a book and record everything each time I fill up so the figures are spot on for SoCal USA

With only 1,300 miles I'm getting around 19 mpg city with a little freeway and 23-25 mpg on the freeway per the gauge and calc'ing it out.

My 2007 SL Murano gets 17.8 mpg average over thousands of city driving miles. However, on one 1,600 mile road trip it got only 21.0 mpg at 70 mph in normal weather and road conditions. This is disappointingly low. Is something wrong?

AWD hurts fuel economy significantly. In my '03 2WD I get 24mpg on average with a 50/50 city/highway mix. Some tips to help: try and keep your RPM's < 2000 at all times (esp when accelerating), stay < 65mph on the highway (anything faster justs wastes energy), and inflate your tires a bit beyond what Nissan recommends. I keep mine 37psi front/35psi back. The ride is not as soft, but it does help fuel efficiancy. Higher octane gas does nothing for me really.

Hope this helps.

I had the same Murano for a couple months and was getting 17.9-18.0 mpg. It's not a hybrid SUV people..

My wife just got a Murano S 2wd last Saturday and on the first tank we got 23.5 miles per gallon with about 45% hwy and 55% city (or 45 mph and below). Of course we are "babying" it until after the first oil change. That first one is most crucial (even though everyone tells me it's not as much of an issue anymore...definitely not going to hurt it by taking it easy so I'll err on the safe side!).

I've had my 2006 Murano S about 2 weeks. Rides great, no problems yet...except my gas mileage indicator keeps getting less and less..

When I first bought it, I had to drive about 80 miles to get it, and was averaging 21 mpg on the way back...now it says I'm around 13-16 mpg around town. Is that normal? I thought I'd get near 17-19 mpg.

Also, before I bought the car, I was told they had to replace a rear oxygen sensor in the car...would that have anything to dowith the gas mileage?

Otherwise, I love everything about it.

My 2005 gets avg. 18-19 in mixed city and freeway commuting. At 65mph freeway on relatively flat terrain I can get 27-29 MPG. Avg freeway at 75 mph is 22-23MPG. Pure city driving with a light foot will get me 17-18. I've never gotten less than 17. I run 89-90 octane with the mid-level gas, not premium and I've never had an issue with pings or knocks. I have 43k miles on the engine. I've been very pleased so far.

20 mpg on a combined cycle (some city and some highway).

All city can drop to about 17-18 and highway can be as high as 23-24.

This also depends upon who is driving (wife or me).

These details are on a 2004 AWD SL with 72,000 miles.

As we all know, pollution controls (CA/Canada, etc.), fuel type, driving conditions and driver habits play a big part in MPG performance.

If you are getting really low mileage consider the city/highway issue. And even with city driving this can vary dramatically if you are faced with gridlock issues (mileage driven over time and stop-go factor).

I have an '09 Murano SL 2WD. I was getting about 18.2 (mostly highway miles >80 MPH) while driving like gas still only costs $1.00/gallon but lately I've been much more reserved (mostly highway miles @70MPH) and my mileage has improved to 22.3 MPG. That's quite a significant increase just for taking it easy and driving the speed limit!

I am also getting 17-18 L/100 km average. I use premium fuel and not push the rpm beyond 3000. I am still in the break-in period (650km) on my 07 murano. Lowest I got is 14L/100 km in high way driving.

do you think there is something wrong with the motor?

05 AWD SE. Premium gas. With mix driving 25% Highway and 75% City I'm getting around 650km(~400 miles) per tank. So it is about 11 L/ 100 km. Tires are 34psi all 4 and I drive economically. I have another toy for fun

2009 SL AWD:First fill up not paid for by Dealer:2008-05-18, drove 246.6 miles since last fill, filled up 18.232 gal @ 4.059, 91 oct, avg mpg 14.8, avg mph 21

Second fill up:2008-05-28, drove 316 miles since last fill, filled up 18.23 gal @ 4.169, 91 oct, avg mpg 18.1, avg mph 29.7

Third fill up:2008-06-08, drove 308.5 miles since last fill, filled up 18.145 gal @ 4.519, 91 oct, avg mpg 17.6, avg mph 30.2

Fourth fill up:2008-06-18, drove 323.8 miles since last fill, filled up 19.439 gal @ 4.939, 91 oct, avg mpg 17.6, avg mph 28

With this car, I'm keeping a full log of everything... Days since last fill up, miles driven since last fill up, total vehicle miles (odometer), what the vehicle estimates to empty, gallons, price/gallon, total gas cost, total time driven (from dash meter), total time driven since last fill up, total miles driven (from dash meter, not odometer), avg mpg, and avg mph

I am tempted to try using 87 or 89 to see if I encounter any differences...

I've got about 2,700 mile on mine so far. I haven't been doing manual calculations but going by the average MPG on the dash meter I'm getting about 21mpg overall. That's with half city/half highway driving.

I have been trying to squeeze milage out of the car. My driving can be described as more of a 'miler' instead of a 'hypermiler'. I try to use the cruise control where possible, staying 1-3 mph over the speed limit (in the right lane of course ), keep plenty of distance between myself and the car in front of me, and I coast where possible without putting the car in neutral.

I think for the next fillup I'm going to drive the car like I used to drive my old 240sx just to see what the worst case scenario would be.

I have had mine for two weeks to the day. Obviously the engine is still being broken in, and it is my wife's daily driver. We are getting about 21mpg. Cruise control has not been used yet, so at this point I would expect it to get better over the next few thousand miles. We only fill it with premium fuel.

I remember when I had my '03 Murano....one time I was hauling a trailer loaded with 36 rolls of wet sod, I managed to pull 26mpg on the way home (about 40 miles) averaging about 55-60 mph.

Holy crap, I just choked when I read your gas mileage!! You should get a Rogue, I get 32mpg (US gallons) highway, around 26 mpg city, along with awesome performance and tons of interior room both front and back...

18 MPG overall (haven't tracked highway mileage) but I know I only get 15-16 MPG in the city. I drive with a lead foot though (trying to improve!) and I think the CVT has already adapted to my driving style and bad habits. It seems overly peppy and ready to move lately as though standing still irritates it.

I have sort of a lead foot myself, but I can't get it to dip that low, but I do quite a bit of highway driving. My wife can easily keep it in the 22-23 range.

I definitely have a lead foot and it's mostly 90-95% city. The other 5-10% is spirited highway driving.

I have a 2004 SE AWD loaded. I am getting around 12.2L/100km with a 80% city, 20% highway combo.

I recently installed a K&N air filter, which took me down from an average of 13.8L/100km.
