I figure you guys would appreciate these old prototypes.

From the pictures it looks like that engine would be right against your back and would feel and hear everything.

Gotta love the video at the bottom of the page.

That's freaking cool. Seems pretty legit too except for the part where the author cites the Porche 959's top speed as 220mph. I'm pretty sure the 959 never topped 200. Still a cool read.

Unfortunately, no longer a Nissan or Infiniti, but continuing here at NICO!

I remember my Car & Driver issue on them back then. Wanted one for sure ... never went into production though.

Some of the prototypes are in a museum in Japan ... I seem to remember a thread about that here at NICO (with pictures).

Both Mid-4s are awesome. You can see a lot of styling cues that made it into other models. There's a lot of Z31 in the original Mid-4, and a lot of S14 and S15 in the later one.

And with the VG30 being one of the better sounding V6s in history, that's certainly a good thing.

While mine may not be as in depth as Dino's, I did one about 4 or so years ago.

Dino is the man, though. I know him personally and he gets keys to some of the coolest and awesomest cars ever just thrown to him and told, "Here. Have fun!"

Plus, he has a pretty awesome Bayside Blue 34-R as well. For being as well known in Japan as he is, he's really a down to Earth cat. I've been to many meets with him when the GTROC Japan group used to have regular meets. Unfortunately, I'm no longer over there so I haven't seen any of those guys in 7 months.
