I recently purchased a set Nissan Maxima OEM wheels
They are 18x7.5 with an offset of +40
Tires are 225/40/18 but they seem a bit too small for the G50
I was thinking of getting 245/45/18 would this be a good size or what other
size would you guys recommend?

I don't like the idea. The Maxima is not a V8 powered car and is probably 500 pounds lighter. I would hold out for some FX of later Q45 rims.

I should consider that...I know the maxima is not as big as a q45 but a 2004 maxima is not small either.

On the other hand...a lot of us are running with G35 wheels with no weight issues. I would thing the Maxi and the G35 are close in weight.

I have 235/50-17 on my Q with plenty of room. I think the 45's are a better choice for you.

I have the 02Q rims (18x7.5, 35mm offset) installed to my 94Q. 245/45R18 tires is a good choice and also get with min rating of 95 load index. Plenty of tires to choose from and depends on your budget.

Good luck.

Thats what I was thinking a lot of you guys have OEM 350z or G35 wheels which dont have V8's and weight about the same as a Maxima.

So I'll go with 245/45/18
Michelins

I didn't notice you owned them already :) that is half the battle. What i would consider is going with some XL rated tires. I just put 245/40 19 XL Michelin Pilot Sports in XL 98 load rating. I had a really good set of Bridgestone 050A Pole Positions on there before but were only 94 rated. The side-wall split going over a big bump after only 50% of the tread was gone, so go with the XL for sure...that will make up for any weight issues. I highly recommend that Pilot Sports, they are a little noisy but the handling and confidence the give is unmatched even by my favorite Bridgestones.
