Man, I never seen one here in the U.S. with that many cracks on the dashboard must be something in Europe. and what year did you say on the Maxima? Just keep looking and see if you see more Maxima's with cracked dashbords like that in Europe. Plus, I live here in FL where the heat is 100+ degrees outside too.

It could be due to frequent use of dashboard cleaner like Armor All, etc,. When I was in th Middle East, it was a common practice from expats (American, Asians & Europeans) to use Armor All and the likes to keep the dashboard shiny and clean. The dashboard looks great for a while. Unfortunately, in hot weather, the cleaner serves more a like a 'cooking oil' accelerating the deterioration of the dashboard, making them brittle. In less than 5 years, my car's dashboard had multiple small cracks. I've seen some spotted dashboards due to uneven application of cleaners. It's a hard lesson for me. From then on, for all my cars, just warm water on chamois/microfiber to clean the dashboard. And I never have had any problem since then.

I believe new products from Armor All have UV protectant but I still stay away from them.

Thanks for the tip. I just got some Simoniz dashboard wipes. They'll probably do the same thing. I think I'll go to the warm water as well.

Thanks the posts. So for me clear, if use wrong dash cleaner we got cracks, but if use good tools all willbe ok. So what i showed this car got wrong clean. The sad that this Maxi has UV protect glasses and this not protected the dashboard.

What do you think how can repair this problem, what is very annoying.

I have two Ideas:

Flocking and "skin" paint.

What do you think about?

regards

No matter what you do the most effective way to fix that is find an uncracked dash and swap them out.
