Okay, I would like to introduce myself on this forum, I was shown this site by an Moderator in real life (350z) and am glad to be on it. I got a 07 Max SL, 46k miles, and use it mainly to drive 70 miles a day >_>... Aside from that, I love it! (Pics will be up soon, but its stock and metal gray)

TO the point! After one crazy day, I was dedicated to finding brakes better than the OEM on the car. Plus, better brakes never hurt anyone, tell the truth, probably saved a couple million of dollars and plenty of lives. So I learned about the different types of rotors/pads. Pretty much it came down to this, OEM, Power Slotted, Drilled and Diamond are what make the difference in the categories of brakes (some are combination). Of course I was like... I want 14's in the front and 13's in the back. Then I learned that it was not possible kinda mainly because of the 17 inch tire (I wish I could throw some low profile 18s on there because thats the most universal, but it would rub up against the walls and such, and i kinda like those SL rims, for they are solid/legit). 2007, being a 12.6 inch front and 11.6 inch back (something along those lines) was a disappointment to me, I mean, it stops, but always can get better. Then I read into the different pads, between the Kevlar(strength/heat disapating), ceramic (life/heat), mutlialloys (longest life*, best noise (so they say). So I concluded, if I am going to get 1 type of rotor, be best to stick with the same companies brake pads. Then I learned about clamps. and how more pistons/pressure is the TRUTH of stopping, thus a big brake kit would be IDEAL.

SO, with everyone who owns lets say a 04-08 / knows about cars / best deals. What would be the best idea for the best pad/rotor combination that would improve my OEM performance at least a good 10-20% without spending 1200+ on a big brake kit (more like 1600+instal since I would not be doing this myself)? My idea was power slotted (possibly with min dimples, but some) and multi alloy pads. Please shoot over some links with some logical feedback (I was looking to spend 500 rotor front 400 back, pads, doesn't matter to me, didnt see any more than 140 a pair anyways). THAnk YOU!!
P.S Please like tell in terms of stopping power, noise, life... ect. And if I am looking 4 a big brake kit 4 what I want, shoot me some info (facts/numbers) to convince me to drop that much money (going to drive this car 100k + miles b4 i sell).

Unless you're trying to stop a car with twice the power that the Maxima has, the big brake kit is really not the best route. Your best bet is going to be to stick with the OE style and just upgrade to a better rotor/pad combination. If you want to upgrade the rotors, you can upgrade to a drilled/slotted part that will help dissipate the heat and gasses created from the friction during the braking process. In regards to pads, there are a couple schools of thought on this. Some will scream that you should always stick with OEM. This is not true as there are many pads out there that meet or beat OEM specifications. For best life and performance, stick with a ceramic brake pad as I've found that they have the best life and the least amount of dust and noise.

Okay, any suggestions on a certain brand though, I have looked through autoanything, tirerack, brakewarehouse, brake performance, and many more. I can't make heads or tails of it, but I am going with the more money it is, the better I am off. Take for example, they have green stuff, then red stuff then yellow stuff, I would go with the yellow. Problem is, some of these pads i swear look like racing pads that will just eat / die away quick and have an extreme amount of dust left in the process. That's why I agree ceramic seems to be the best, longest life too.

For rotors, I would recommend brembo blanks, slotted rotors will eat your brake pads
Check out these sites,
Brembo blanks

Hawk pads are pretty good

Yes, Brembo all the way! They were the first I looked for when searching for rotors, because I drive my friends camaro 2ss (`10) and those brembo's are so smooth and good. But I couldn't find any that were a specific fit for my model 2007. And it seems like it isn't made for the car, but the sizes match up. Because the EBC's below are specific (http://www.importrp.com/product.php?pro ... =38&page=1). I really am liking those black EBC's with the spaced slotted cuts in it. Yea I know they will eat my pads up, but I just would figure going from a smooth OEM to smooth AMP, kinda seem pointless unless they are using some alloy that improves friction and heat dissipation in the Brembo's. But I look at the specs of weight for the EBC and they are 46 lbs! normally I would think they are 25-40 lbs a piece, LOL. Which probably isn't a bad thing! And for hawk, they seems good, larger matter of fact, just I wish they had like a 50%ceramic 50% fero carbon pad, that would be exactly what I am looking for. As of now It seems as EBC dashed (black) and EBC red stuff is what I am heading towards as the best, because EBC is pretty much 1 step below brembo, and who knows, if it doesnt work out, I will just get those brembo's because they are so cheap.
