My car is Nissan Maxima 1993. The left side head light high beam doesn't work. It worked occasionally when I tried to switched it a couple times, sometimes it didn't. The low beam works well. There is no any problem with right head light. Thanks for help!

Surely a wiring problem if the light isn't burned. My truck headlights used to flash when I put them on high. Turned out I had to change the switch.

Fuse socket, relay, switch, connector plug and grounding corrosion. Check those.

I have a similar problem with my 93 Nissan. Before, my right low beam was not working. Then the left high beam was also not working. So it's basically left low beam and right high beam working now. I thought it was the lamp/lightbulb problem, but found out today it was not so when I swapped the lamps left and right. Ohhh...I'll have to figure out what is the source of the problem this weekend...

I'm having a problem with my '00 Maxima. Low beams and fog lights work just fine. Selecting high beam, fog lights shut off (as they should), left high beam O.K., but right high beam not working. In fact, no DRL working either. Cleaned three grounds in engine compartment that I could find. Swapped relays but no difference. My next thought was the steering column switch...

Any ideas

Since the Max uses dual-filament lamps, have you tried swapping lamps? Does the problem remain?

With only one side not working, if the lamp is not to blame, your culprit is probably wiring to that particular headlight.

I swapped headlight housings to the replacement Hella H4. I tried replacing the bulb (H4) and even checked the bulb on the passenger side. The passenger high and low both work fine, driver side high doesnt at all but the low does. It has worked for a while, but all of a sudden this occured.

It should be similar with a 91 240sx i would believe after swapping to dual-filament bulbs. I checked the fuses and they looked ok, im going to pick up a multimeter to check the fuses as well as if there is any current flowing on the driver side. I am also going to take apart the switch (wand) and check the contacts, per order of many other people who have had a simlar problem.

I had the same identical issue in the beginning of this thread. Ended up removing the ground to both bulbs, cleaning it quite a bit and reattaching it. Issue did not go away. Then my issue went to no high beams at all. Ended up being the high/low switch that is built into the lever on my column. Picked one up at a salvage yard, cleaned it thoroughly, applied new grease, installed it....and viola.....perfect every since. Traced back the old one and sure enough....it was the switch (wasnt making good contact so voltages were incorrect causing erradic issues). Should be able to find one for less than 25 bucks at salvage...clean it up, pop it in, and enjoy the "luxury" of working headlights...

Lol thanks. I took apart the switch twice and cleaned it up pretty good. Sanded all the contacts and vwala. My highbeam works now. So thanks everyone.
