Looks like Nissan just dropped a new youtube ad, ending with a not-too-shabby look at the new Z (as opposed to just some silhouette).

The rear is quite retro. I'd like to see a full-on a** shot.

The rest of the ad shows random trucks and crossovers without too much detail. The flash of model names suggests its a global advertisement, as some of those models aren't currently in the US.

I definitely see S30 in the Z's butt end. I really like what I see there, even the headlights and grille. Maybe Nissan has learned that being the loudest guy in the room only gets you attention for a few minutes, and usually not the kind you want to get.

I also really like that Titan (or at least what can be seen of it). The fenders remind me of the first-gen, and it looks MUCH cleaner and less chinese-knockoff looking (not to mention less droopy) than the 2nd gen. I'm going to guess this is still a "2nd gen" but with new sheetmetal.

Perhaps its me, but with the exception of the last vehicle, I yawned, because, well, they're all crossovers/pickups. They look pretty much the same to me except for different headlight styling. The only interesting model is what I presume to be the next Z. it looks evolutionary from the little they teased. That can be a very good thing. But I suspect that "eyeliner" headlight treatment will probably give off a "chick car" vibe to the tuner crowd that's already going to kvetch about it not having enough power. We'll see what happens.

Here's what I don't get. Call it a 400Z with a 3.0 motor? It's like wiping before you poop....it just doesn't make any sense.

Its become more and more common among manufacturers to use a rough equivalency formula from turbo to NA motors for nomenclature that is supposed to be displacement based.

I think the "400" designate is fair given the goodness of the projected 3.0 L Twin Turbo that we know so well from the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport

^ What Fred said.
I don't agree with their logic though.
What was wrong with 300zx and 300zx TT?

It just deviates from the formula that's been there for 50 years.....

Daring. Innovative. Passionate.
Not exactly the verbiage I would use to describe anything on the current lineup. I'm interested in seeing what they do with the Z. I'm just hoping they don't ruin it.

Hey but at least they updated the logo!

Point being, of course, that it lights up.

"A New Day."

GOD I hate marketing departments.

Perhaps it's me, but the new logo looks more like a dashboard idiot light for the parking brake being on. Seems like a metaphor for Nissan preventing itself from moving forward and improving. ;)
