Hello everybody (first post!)
@mods, plz move post if not in correct forum thx!

So....Since info I dug up on this forum helped me, I thought I'd put up some more info on my situation in case anybody was interested or also Googling some info.

Some of you know that Nissan North America offered a LIFETIME seatbelt warranty for some older Nissans.
Good background article: http://articles.latimes.com/1995-05-24/ ... _seat-belt

Well I had a great experience when the first seatbelt on my G20 went bust. The dealer replaced it for free!
But when the second seatbelt broke, the dealer told me the part # was both NLA and Un-orderable.

Btw, the seabelts are produced by Takata, the same company responsible for the current Air Bag debacle.

Anyway, I filed a case with Infiniti Consumer Affairs, and after a few months of them checking with the "vendor," I got a call from Nissan North America claims dept. with the news that the part was officially unobtainable, and the only option was for them to repurchase my car at the current KBB.

As you might imagine, my G20 is worth a lot more to me than their offer. I just wanted the seatbelt fixed!
Sorry, says the lady, offer is non-negotiable. I had to decline the offer under protest, but that fell upon deaf ears.

So just to exhaust the topic, I spoke to a law office that specializes in automobile issues, and they figured Nissan was doing as much as it needed to fulfill it's contractual obligations, and that litigation would be fruitless.

Whomever reads this might find themselves in a similar situation and unless you're driving a junkyard car, will likely also decline the re-purchase offer.

Sorry to here that. I'm baffled that they'd offer thousands of dollars to buy back the car, when it's infinitely cheaper to replace the part. While you didn't mention your car's model year, so I went for 2001. A basic search turned up this:

Infiniti Genuine Factory Part Number: 868857J100, Fits 2001 Infiniti G20 T, Retractor assy off black Left
http://nalleyinfinitimariettaparts.com/ ... eid=218710 MSRP: $236.24 Online Price: $236.24 (?)

http://www.infinitipartsdeal.com/parts/ ... 7j100.html MSRP: $236.24 Online Price: $174.23
This genuine part is manufactured and warranty covered by Infiniti.

^ Don't let them push you around. I had a similar issue with a 240sx were the seatbelt failed in the forward position. If it failed in the locked position, I'd of been okay with that. They never offered to buy mine back though, they just kept telling me that the part wasn't made and I eventually reported them to the NHTSA and they got their s*** together and replaced it. Note that this was a couple of months, litigation (my file folder was HUGE), and only after a ton of arguing and advancing up the chain via contact information I found on Linkedin, was it resolved.

I suggest you show them those parts that Rogue One found and bark up that tree again.

^And then that damn seatbelt still didn't work right. I eventually replaced it with manual seatbelts.
