Hi guys i found this site and i am from the caribbean. I have a 1997 nissan Leopard thats from japan but after reading this site i found alot of problem identical to mines and the instructions to fix them fix mines. Then i also read somewhere that the Infinity J30 might have very well been the nissan leopard imported from japan and converted to the infinity J30 for the USA standards. Is this true and if so i can ask alot of questions for my car thanks all

Welcome aboard!

Yes, the Leopard J. Ferie in Japan = the Infiniti J30 in the US.

US model ran from 93 to 97.

Ask away!!!

the leopard was a different bird... The J30 was the JPY32 (J-Ferie), actually more closely related to the Y32 Cima, which is very similar to the Z32 with a retarded front suspension (more like the front on the maxima, mcphearson).. Technically its a leopard like Greg said, but its actually closer to the Z and Y32 than it is to the F31 leopard...

The J-Ferie was really a goofy car, it was a true hodgepodge of nissan engineering...

The lepoard was the F31, which is close to the Z31

to make this easier on everyone, does your car look more like the 1st or second car...

what would REALLY make this easy, is go under the hood and look at the VIN plate.. Its the silver plate thats mounted on the firewall.. Tell us what the "chassis code" is...

i will look tomorrow to see if i find it i know it is there i hope it not in japanesse cause thats one of the bad things of buying it form japan. Also i have another question not sure if i should open in a new tread or not but when i first got the car whenever i was driving at nights and the head lights was on a small light would shine down unto the gear shift from the light in the roof of the car but for some reason it donot come on no more the lights work when i open the door i manaully put it on any idea what the problem might be thanks
