Nissan Knows Their Cars... LOL

Ok so I go in to Nissan this morning to pick up an extra exhaust manifold gasket for my turbo manifold and inquire about the HLSD (because Mcheddadi has done it, I might as well too right?).

Ok here goes:

Me: How much is the HLSD out of the Sentra Spec V?Parts Guy: H L S D ?Me: Limited Slip Differential -- By this point I know it's going no where so I'm not expecting much.Parts Guy: Oh... Spec V... Rear or Front differential?Me: Uh... front... (I didn't know the Spec V came in AWD? What? Wow.).Parts Guy: You must have a Skyline?Me: What no? 2009 Altima Coupe.Me: I wish I had a Skyline.Parts Guy: No you don't. Are you a millionaire?Me: What? I can get one for like 9 grand shipped...Parts Guy: Do you have the VIN?Me: VIN for what?Parts Guy: The Spec V?Me: Why? I just want to know how much the HLSD costs.Me: Nevermind, I will get the part number and come back.

In defense to the parts guy..in all honesty, you really don't need to know anything about cars to be a parts counters guy/gal. I've seen their software and basically to get the right part you have to input the information into the software hence the stupid questions. Yeah I know it can be frustrating but hey....Nissan designed it so Joey Bag O' Donuts can do it so....

u think u have it tough- i went to the parts manager/lead technician himself and i asked him straight out what it would take to be able to put on my stillen headers and take the oem exhaust manifold out, but put in a removeable cat so that i can still pass inspection, and the guy is like, "huh?" "headers?"

needless to say- i'm glad i have 2 dealerships around me to know wtf i talk about sumtimes.

Yeah and that's the same for me. I deal with one guys all the time. He knows me and knows what I've done to the car. Always a pleasure to deal with someone who knows what they're talking about
