I had a 1991 Stanza GXE, and the front doors used 4x6. I believe this is true for all 90-92 Stanzas I have seen.

i don't know if the 240 S13 coupes have the same problem as the hatches, but anything that is slightly larger in depth will have trouble on the rear deck. the mounting circle has a flat side that interferes with deeper 6.5's. I had to get a pair of alpines to fit (upside down because the connectors couldn't clear the flat spot when mounted right side up) because the boston accoustics i had bought were too big

HEY..im not sure but i dont think that the 6.5's fit too well in the 93 240sx 2door i tried fitting my brothers speakers in and it seemed that the holes were too close together. Also, sounddomain.com says that 7 inches will fit... can u check on that?? thanx

No clue, opened it up to take out the fronts and had rockfords. Checked the back and had 6x9s. Could have been a dealer-performed upgrade. It's got power everything and all options except leather.

This is a kick *** thread...i was wondering if anyone had any info on the Infiniti i30 speakers....like1) speaker sizes2) what do i do, to get rid of the amps in the car so i can use aftermarket speakers and a aftermarket deck.3) is there a friggen website out there that has infiniti parts, and infiniti parts only... and when i mean parts, i mean, headlights, cefiro mods. lol..i go to millions of websites that say they have infiniti parts but all they have is lightbulbs that will fit any damn car lol.

im just a guy tryn to hook up my i30, and give it the pimp status it god damn deserves...but its gettin to be a big pain in the arse loli got some stuff done, but i dont wanna rip anything out of my car again unless im doing it all AT ONCE....deck gets put in same day as visor screens, door speakers(if i can ever find out what size the damn things arelol).

So should I order 6.5's all around for my 1997 240sx SE. Is that the closest size?

I read this post on:"just a note, 6.5's dont fit 95+ 240s very well, at least not memphis audio, the holes are actually 6.75's, on the back i used sticky insulation around the speaker hole to fill the gap, with velcro to hold the speakers down (no room for a drill, too frustrated to make an adapter), up front, i was able to get screws to partially bite into a modified speaker cup, an adapter plate, again, would be best.ast"

SO do I buy 6.75's 5.5 cutout all around or

6.5 components with 5 inch cut out for the front6.75 for rear with 5.5 cutout

Confused.....

Same sizes front and rear it's just easier to mount in plastic than in the metal rear decklid for the aftermarket style speakers. The factory speakers are low impedance and using the factory amps you will get less power per channel with a typical 4ohm driver, this is why people doing this hear distortion. They must be turning it up louder to achieve the same volume and then the amp is clipping.

You didnt have the speaker sizes on the 5 gen and 5.5 gen MAXIMA. front = It is 6.5 in the front door panels with 1 inch tweater in the A-pillar

In the rear = 6.5 in the rear door and 6.5 woofer in the rear deck. All powered by a bose amp.

for a 98 nissan 240sx would a depth of 2 9/16th be good or would that be too much and i would need to find a shallow mount speaker for front and rear?

Just for clarity's sake, the '95-'98 240sx are listed in this thread as 6.5 front and back. I recently removed the fronts in a '95 base model and they were in fact 5.25 in the front. Clarion dual-cone paper to be exact. I did not remove the original rears (was wife's car at the time and she had a shop replace those along with a new HU a couple years ago), so I can not say what they were. But the original factory size of the fronts on a base model looks to be 5.25. I don't know if the SE came with the 6.5s standard.

Regards.

1992 Q45... Just finished the 1st stage of an aftermarket soundsystem. Did a new head unit and replaced amplified Bose speakers with aftermarket speakers (polk audio). Rear deck 6"X9" (which you already knew) But in the front doors, I COMPLETELY REMOVED the Bose enclosures with the 4"-ers in them and made plates that have the same footprint as the enclosures. I was able to fit a matching set of 6"X9" speakers in the front doors. (I could have done 6.5" as well).I have photos of the plates if anyone wants to see them. I also removed the stock metal grills in the front doors and painted them black (they were bourgandy like the rest of the interior) then I reinstalled the grills before I put the door panels back on. They look AWESOME (again I have pics if anyone wants to see them). I used black appliance enamel (very chip resistant)

Hey Sketchy, when I did my old S14 base model I used 6.5 all around and they fit alright.A little tight and I had to bend and cut some of the little slots on the speakers to get them screwed on. Nothing complicated, you just have to see for your self if you like the fitment. I will be doing the same pretty soon.
