Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum, and really excited to read more about this car.
I purchased my 2014 QX6o in November of 2014 and was THRILLED. I loved this car at first...
With in a week of ownership, I had to replace the transmission (MD state inspection caught it, and said to check it out). When I made right hand turns, it would shutter and make crazy noises. Thank goodness it was under warranty. The trans was fixed at our local infiniti dealer. I still found that the car did not run as smooth and strong as it should, but being new to the brand, I chalked it up to getting used to a bigger car.
Next, the AC stopped working (or never worked). Again, no big deal, just stinks to have it fixed.
Then, the cluster of buttons on the steering wheel only worked on occasion, I mentioned this to my dealer, and they said it was fine. They weren't, but it was hard to show something that only malfunctions every so often. My auto starter did the same thing, but they also said it was fine...
My final straw was when the car grew a brain of it's own and locked my purse, intelligent key, and CHILD inside while I was getting it. I loaded my son into his car seat, and put my purse behind the seat with my phone, keys, and everything else inside. As I closed his door, and went to open my door, I quickly learned that it locked up!
I didn't freak out at first. I simply called infiniti connect (using another person's phone) and the rep I spoke with said, "Ma'am, I have no idea what you are talking about, I can not remotely unlock your car..." So, in getting no where, I called 911. In the mean time, I called my local dealer, where they told me they don't really know how to work infiniti connect/personal assistant, and gave me the same number that I found online who told me they don't know what it is. Needless to say, I lost my mind.
40 minutes later, 911 had to use a jimmy to open my 2014 car (they even asked if I could remotely unlock it...it was great).
Since this incident, I have contacted Infiniti corporate. We are in the process of completing a buy back with Infiniti. It has been decided that my car is not safe to drive. My dealer gave me a loaner for a few days, fixed the AC and the buttons on the steering, but couldn't figure out why my car locked on it's own. Their resolution was for me to make sure my key is in my pocket...really! I am currently driving my car, not safe, and worried if Infiniti doesn't approve my by back.
My question to the forum is: has anyone ever worked with Infiniti's buy back program? How long did it take? was is hard to do?
Thanks so much for any feedback!
