nissan guides info

alrite I have no idea if this is true or not but I've had that annoying timing chain rattle for a few months now and i'm getting pretty annoyed by it. I checked with my mechanic and the timing chain checks out as in not streched or worn or anything so im wondering if the guide is the problem. A friend told me that if the upper guides is the problem which is normally is as Nissan declared the item is useless and prone to failure then Nissan will just remove it for you for free and let you be on your way. Would Nissan really remove it for free? if they do then i'm there. What do you guys think?
