"Super GT VK45DE produces 500 PS (490 hp) and 52 kg·m (380 ft·lbf) of torque.[2] The engine idles at around 3500 RPM "

The high idle tells you the torque curve have been moved up 2,800 rpm so peak torque occurs at 6800 and peak HP around 8000-8200 rpm.

Since peak HP is ~~0.85 x 380 lb/ft = 323 lb/ft the question is: what is rpm multiplier above 5252 rpm that yields: 490 hp/323= ~ 1.517 x 5252= 7967 rpm with 323 lb/ft.

Realistically, if an L series can be made to produce 100whp/L and still be streatable, I don't see a reason that a VH couldn't do the same or better. The issue though is that there really is no aftermarket for the VH engine itself. Some minor cam regrinds, but that basically is it. You'd have to go WAY beyond that with cams, probably need some serious head and exhaust work done, ITBs, etc, before you could hit 100whp/L. If I don't end up going with a SCed VH/VK, I'll go the high horse NA route, but a HUGE amount of that work is going to be custom to my engine, application, and chassis.

That being said, a 500whp VH or VK wouldn't be "streetable" in the sense of retaining most of the qualities of a luxury sedan. That being said, if you are building it to have fun driving in a light chassis, then it should be fine.

3500rpm idle is wrong - that is a seriously high idle for any race engine - or motorcycle engine at that.

500PS peak power - 494hp@8100rpm and torque devloped at peak power is 320lb.ft

I would think a 3500 idle would sound like this, not constant but pulsing.

And cut Qtech some slack, he probably did all the calcs in his head! haha

wait....Vk45? I thought they used a VK56 with Twin Turbos attached to it. And Im sure they said it produced 800hp but they had to use restrictor plates to limit it to 500.

or are we not talking about the same vehicle?
