Nissan Gold Extended warranty inspection required??

I'm very near end of orig new car warranty (36mo) on my '10 Altima (bought it new). I've gotten differing info on whether formal inspection is required for Nissan's Gold Preferred (new car) ext warranty, and if so how long inspection/application paperwork takes to process. Seems like if inspect is required & paperwork misses the 36mo deadline (Nissan denies the application) I would be out cost of the inspection (quoted as $150-200!!) . Any advice????

Yes and inspection is required, it's basically a CPO inspection. They take roughly 1.5-2hrs to complete. The paperwork typically takes around a week.
