Nissan factory orders

I spoke to a Nissan dealer about possibly factory ordering a vehicle and they told me that they do not
do that any more.

My brother bought a Pathfinder in the early 90s and I am almost sure he factory ordered his vehicle.
This was in the early 90s.

Did Nissan place factory orders from Japan in the past?

Not necessarily. I think it depends on the model and/or whether or not it's a "special" order.
