Hi!

I recently purchased a 2008 Versa (Canadian model) and the salesman told me I had an extended warranty included with the vehicule, that included a complete 5 years or 120 000 kms. However, he was not able to tell me more about this warranty.

On the sales contract, it is written NVPP3A # H38845.

Does anyone know what is included (or better yet EXcluded) in the warranty? And does it carry the roadside assistance?

Thanks!

Eric

It sounds like he was informing you of you engine warranty that is good for 5 years or 120000 kms. If you had gotten the extended warranty from Nissan it will say that the coverage is gold plus or silver plus. Those warranties are good for 5 years or 160000 kms.

He actually tols me that it was an extended warranty and it was clearly "bumper to bumper" for 5 years or 120 00 kms. On the other hand, I found that NVPP could mean "Nissan Vehicule Purchase Plan". Does it mean it was a salesman's car?

Nevermind, I misread your original post. I thought this was a new Versa.

Hey, I have a 2008 Versa as well (from Canada). And I purchased the extended warranty. Did you buy your Versa new or used?

I purchased mine new and opted to pay extra for the extended 7 year warranty. It also included paint protection, fabric protection, sound inhibitor/shield, and the rust protection.

I received a book in the mail explaining the extended warranty, and 4 oil change coupons about a week after I purchased my car.

So you purchased the car used? That means the previous owner paid extra to extend the warranty to 5 years (otherwise it would have been 3 years). Did they leave the extended warranty booklet with you.

And yes, when I extended my warranty to 7 years (or 120,000 kms) it includes roadside assistance. Not sure how that works though when you purchase the car used. And the warranty is for 5 years or so many kms. I'll try and see if it says anything online that you could look at.

The booklets were left in the glove box, including the one for the original warranty. But nothing fir the extended warranty.

On my sales contract, the salesman wrote: remaining additional warranty : november 30, 2012 or 120 000 kms. And on the details line he wrote NVPP3A # H38845 (or H380845; difficult to read). I Googled it and I found "Nissan Vehicule Purchase Plan". What is THAT?

Furthermore, he was not able to give me any details. No brochure. Nothing. Roadside assistance? Never been discussed. Is it really an extended warranty purchased by the original owner?

Yes it is, because Nissan only offers a 3 year warranty with their vehicles (and I think it is only until 36,000 kms).

I know because I purchased mine new over 1 year ago, and added the extended warranty. Mine is 7 years, or 120,000 kms. So what you have is an extended warranty that the original purchaser paid extra for.

I'm surprised they didn't leave you the booklet for the extended warranty. Anytime you have a problem just make sure you find out if you can get it covered under warranty. You made need the number they gave you as proof. I was given a card (similar to a credit card) that has a phone number on it to make claims (for roadside assistance) and my extended warranty plan #.
