Has anyone else purchased a Nissan security plus warranty and then, when it came down to needing to use the warranty, having it show as not in the system?

No, check with your records. Check with third party vendor if applicable. If the money is gone, it went somewhere and there should be evidence. Best of luck.

Here is a little bit of my story...
purchased my 2014 Nissan Altima brand new in March of 2014 with only 20 miles on it. When I bought the vehicle I also purchased the Nissan security plus warranty and another warranty totaling approximately $1,600. I have the paperwork to prove it. I have had to have recall work done on the vehicle multiple times. 15 days ago my car began having issues. I was told by a mechanic friend of mine that it was probably a transmission or battery issue. I had to have my car towed to Napleton Nissan in Schererville INDIANA. I bought the car at Continental Nissan in Countryside, Illinois. Napleton Nissan has told me on multiple occasions now that I do not have any warranties in their system and that in order for them to diagnose my car they need me to pay the $139 diagnostic fee up front. I have showed them all of my paperwork with proof that I have purchased these warranties. I have been in touch with the finance manager who wrote my paperwork to the car originally and he recalls me having purchased the warranties. I have had conversations with the general managers telling me that they would have this issue fixed immediately.I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs. Nissan corporate states that I have no warranty in the system and that I am outside of coverage limits for manufacturers warranty. I gave them
Proof of my payment for the additional warranties and they are telling me that they have to make a decision on whether or not to, as a courtesy, extend my warranty. The paperwork I have states my warranty is good for 72 months or 100,000 miles... neither of which I have reached. I have filed complaints with BBB and the attorney general., the finance manager from Continental Nissan, told me they would tow my car to their shop and have it fixed on 8-16-17... they have not towed it and never contacted the other dealership about having it transferred. I have been without a car for nearly 2 weeks at this point and the dealerships refuse to provide me a rental unless they have a warranty in the system. My car insurance covered my towing fees. This situation has caused me to miss out on my sisters bachelorette party in Nashville. I also just recently moved out of state to Missouri to start a new job as a paramedic. I have had to have my husband chauffeur me around and have almost missed work due to this. This has caused me so much stress. The company eagerly took my $1,600 and is refusing to give me the service that I have paid for. I have been on the phone with multiple people for hours and hours and still have no resolution. Nissan corporate should not have to "make a decision" to fix my car. I bought the warranties and have the proof. A Nissan arbitrator just contacted me recently and admitted that the dealership sold me a third party warranty even though I was under the impression I purchased a Nissan extended warranty. The third party warranty doesn't cover crap. The Nissan security plus warranty I was told I had purchased covers a lot and includes towing and rental.it seems like Ritter the dealership bait and switched me or someone just screwed up and never put my info into the system. The arbitrator then had the balls to only offer to switch my warranty from the third party warranty to the Nissan warranty I thought I had purchased... nothing else. No offers of reimbursing me all of my additional expenses or anything... beware of these bait and switch dealerships

That sounds like an absolute nightmare, and just adds to my hatred for dealerships.
Do your receipts show the type of warranty that was purchased?

Ugh! I'd lawyer up and charge them with the warranty, your time and your lawyer's time... I think. I'm not sure what I'd really do if I had to. I hate lawyers and court and corporate giants who don't take responsibility for their mistakes. We can't really help beyond providing an ear to listen with. Hopefully you'll have some good news to share in the near future.

Yeah I've got all of the papers and I've shown them all of my papers... this is so frustrating!

So they sold you a 3rd party warranty and you thought it was a Nissan warranty correct?

Do you have any paperwork that says it's a Nissan extended warranty?

Do you have any paperwork that it's written somewhere that they are giving you a Nissan extended warranty?

unfortunately I think you are going to need a lawyer to try and fix this. I believe the lawyer will usually take 50% of whatever you "win".
Find a lawyer that deals with dealerships and figure out if it's going to be worth it. Otherwise I would take what they offered in switching the warranties, because if you don't have any paperwork that says it's a nissan extended warranty I think it would be tough to win; but ask a lawyer.

Good luck!

Who did you buy the car from at Continental Nissan in Countryside and who was the finance manager?

If you could post up the details of the 3rd party warranty, maybe we could find a way to get the vehicle fixed too.

I originally signed the paperwork with Roy, the finance manager from Continental Nissan in Countryside. He is the one I've been dealing with during this problem.

The third party warranty was from Advantage.
