Yeah I think that the largest advancement will be when the DE tuning goes from hardware hackers [like myself] into the general tuning community. Right now I still feel it's a bit out of many peoples hands, esp when it comes to setting up the files, burning the PROMs, swapping the PROMS for every 'final' tune, etc, etc... I'm excited to see boards like the Bikirom which will help to take some of the mystery out of it all. I mean, not everyone wants to deal with the addressing stucture of the DE PROM: they just want to plug it in, get a 16x16 map, and stuff it with floating point numbers.
But for now, yes, I hope that we can keep this as 'open' as it should be, and not allow a single entitity to manoploize the community(and more importantly, the information!).
