I heard there was supposed to be a forum here at NICO especially for ECU tuning. Is that still happening? Maybe I just didn't see it on the way in...

I'm very interested in the Bikirom, but I would rather wait untill it's matured a bit before installing it in my own. It seems that people should be receiving their first runs of these boards soon? :cool

Regarding the various ROM editors out there now(including LiveEdit), are these generally accepted by dyno tuning shops? I mean, if a shop doesn't do ECU tunes themselves(but will tune AEM, emanage, etc), are they generally capable of using these sorts of software? Is the LiveEdit something a dyno tuning shop *should* be familiar with using(or an editor similar?).

Would it be reccomended to bring a stock ECU bin file to the dyno(printout)?

Yeah that forum went up a few days ago, seems to be fairly popular so far.

I hope the discussions/info can help people tune their own ecus, and that sometime in the near future we will be sharing tuning info like hondas and dsm.

Also it helps progress of prototyping

Yeah I think that the largest advancement will be when the DE tuning goes from hardware hackers [like myself] into the general tuning community. Right now I still feel it's a bit out of many peoples hands, esp when it comes to setting up the files, burning the PROMs, swapping the PROMS for every 'final' tune, etc, etc... I'm excited to see boards like the Bikirom which will help to take some of the mystery out of it all. I mean, not everyone wants to deal with the addressing stucture of the DE PROM: they just want to plug it in, get a 16x16 map, and stuff it with floating point numbers.

But for now, yes, I hope that we can keep this as 'open' as it should be, and not allow a single entitity to manoploize the community(and more importantly, the information!).
