This is a pretty interesting piece about Nissan's commercial vehicle efforts throughout the years... Just as much work goes into their design as the design of a new Z.

BTW, our very own Canaan Manley (Versa Moderator) is a key player in the development of the NV200 for Nissan. Hopefully, he'll pop in and elaborate a little on what he does.

Meanwhile, check it out!

That was a great read! I don't suppose you could link in higher-rez versions of the pictures that pop up when you click on them? I'd like to get a closer look at a few of the design shots. Awesome work!

I'll check on it... those articles are hard to load up, since they're originally pdf files.

I do have quite a few spare sets of r-compounds now that I sold one of my cars. We could make this happen!

A lot of people don't realize how significant this van is, not just for Nissan but for business owners all over the country. The Mercedes Sprinter is competent but quite expensive to maintain, the Ram Van is gone, and the Econoline and Express are aging. There's never been a better time to introduce a high-quality commercial van.

I look forward to renting one.

Been involved with the NV myself since 08/09 on the opposite end of the plant from Canaan.
I'd like to see one of the high roof vans dropped on 24s, rigged out as a tailgate vehicle for the games.

Indeed. And as a fan of the Titan, Armada, and big QX, I'm VERY glad to see Nissan dedicating resources to the future of their half-ton truck platform. They've demonstrated that they know what they're doing in that arena, even if half-ton pickup competition is too fierce for them to really stand up against the American brands. But with the NV they have a real chance to stand out, all the while securing a solid future for the likes of the Titan and Armada (and QX, though I'll only start caring about it again after it stops making my eyes bleed and puts its dinner suit back on).
