The price cuts vary with the amount of equipment on each model. They run from 2.7 percent, or $580, on the top-selling Altima midsize car to 10.7 percent, or $4,400, on the Armada big SUV. Executives are under pressure to sell more cars, with Nissan's CEO targeting a 10 percent U.S. market share within three years.

Nissan is also cutting prices on the Sentra compact car, Juke small crossover SUV, Murano midsize crossover, Rogue small crossover and the Maxima full-size car.

I have my doubts that will help Nissan, what they have to do is to start adding more gadgets to their based models like other auto makers are doing. That will catch the eyes of more buyers in my opinion.

many new car buyers are willing to spend a little more to get more. the rest of us who buy used, will walk by a new car that doesnt offer as much - for a used car that offers more. thats the facts of life.

so nissan can discount their new cars all they want, they still wont sell as many as Hyundai(example) that offers everything from rear heated seats, to LED door handles on the exterior, to touch screen/back up cams standard, to LED accents in the headlights, to the tons of other feature they offer in their cars that are still priced cheaper than nissan. people realized that the gap has closed between kia/hyundai & the likes of nissan.

there was a good old saying back in my ARMY Infantry days: LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GET OUT OF THE WAY. (right now, nissan is not leading, nor following. they are simply standing in the way(IDLE).)
