Good article for those who are not sure about which one to choose.

To be honest, I've got to wait till may to try the Cube and the Soul to compare.

Good read...I will have to see the Kia in person to make a final call though! Still a fan of the cube.

I have a 1st gen xB....so I definitely don't like the new xB. I just went last week to check out the Soul. To me it is definitely to Rav4'ish. Sits entirely too high off the ground and the pricing appears to be higher than the Cube and definitely higher than the xB. Granted I'll have to wait until May to see the Cube firsthand....but as of right now it looks like the 1st gen box may give way to the stateside Cube!

I think the same. But damn, the Soul got such a full list of equipment even on the base model for the price it's hard to beat. And it's Kia, how much will it worth in 3-4 years from now, and will it fall in ruins...don't trust to much korean stuff even if it's way better than it was back in the days. Can't wait to know the canadian mrsp for the Cube. Got to admit, I'm more sell off to Nissan compared to Kia(Hyundai)

I may be the candidate for a new Cube in 2013 when my Versa is paid off then. I will check it out during that time. When I hear the word Cube, I think of the Nintendo GameCube for some odd reason.

Tried the Kia Soul last friday. Drove the 1.6L and the 2.0L. The 1.6l engine is noisy, it does the job to move the car but it's kind of border line. The 2.0L was better. The car drive well, turn well too. Driving position is good. The only thing I hated is the total lack of clutch feeling. Way too soft, no feeling at all.The shifting is weird too, didn't like it. Shifting gear with that car was as boring as driving an automatic car.

The car didn't convince me to get one, maybe rent it but not buy it.

I like the look of the Soul, but need to get out and drive both cars.

Prices and features can be compared here:

i just bought the Cube after test driving all 3 of these extensively.i originally like the Soul, but the Honda-esque hard shifting automatic kinda turned me away, as did the poor rear visibility, and the small rear hatch opening, but the handling and the stereo were IMO the best of the 3.the xb has simply turned into another small suv or minivan, and i didnt spend much time with it as i felt they lost touch with the original goal, though it was definitely the quickest of the 3, but thats not that important to me.the CVT automatic , the tall luggage area, the swing open rear hatch, and the turning radius of the cube are the things that really sold me on it, though i must say that BOTH radio options are a bit dissapointing to me sound wise. the fact that the cube has the quirkiest styling to me is just a bonus!my 2 cents...

Nissan is also a better all around comapany and they have the most experience. We thought about the Soul also, but just went for Nissan because of their quality and history. Oh and btw these are supposed to be econo-cars that get you around town... Nissan FTW!!!

I don't agree with you that Nissan is a better all around company than Toyota. Agreed on Kia.

Right, I understand what you're saying about Toyota. I was more focusing on Kia vs. Nissan in the above post. But then again its truely Scion as a company not being as good as Nissan.

i havent seen much of the soul closely but one thing for sure is price wise is too high comparing the same level of cars like the xb,fit and dont forget about the yaris!

i had a yaris before my xb and truly i was so dissapointed with, it wasnt like other cars when i like them even more after start to do a couple mods so the yaris had to go bye bye.

i wont say they are better compay all around BUT they do fill you in most categories like the 350z, the G coupe, the old school 240sx and more that you still see out there, when it comes about toyota i only remember one strong horse from them and thats the toyota supra.

kia is doing a lot of great cars lately, i think they are trying to take advantage of the weak american car crisis
