Nissan Cube Key

My Mother currently owns a Nissan Cube here in the UK and has just changed the battery in the key fob and now cant use it to operate the central locking? does it need to be re-calibrated or paired? Help would be much appreciated

It shouldn't have to be programed again. Double check that the battery is in the right way and that it is in good condition.
