I have been researching the available Nissan Consults to hopefully fix and overhaul my active suspension.

The cable and software featured at http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/consult_if.shtmlseems to be the most reliable and best developed aftermarket package.

Is anyone familiar, if it is possible to work with the Q45's active suspension with these aftermarket packages?

Thanks.

I have the Blazt cable with NissanDataScan on my laptop and it does not read the active, transmission or A/C systems. It reads only the engine functions. The icons are there but from what I understand only the 300zx has full funtionality and then you have to purchase a different program. Blazt is a New Zealand product and the customer service has been excellent. Look on the sponsor's bars to the right to find them.

Nissan Consult is a dealer-only tool although they are available on ebay for many hundreds of $$$. In the consult self-diagnosis sections of the FSM it's the tool the Nissan tech uses for a quick, accurate diagnosis. Without a Consult we press buttons, open and close doors and count flashing lights coming from different parts of the car.

No known aftermarket Consult reads the active suspension codes. You must use the built in diagnostic procedure in the FSM

I'm still waiting and hoping that one day we'll have one that we can use on our Active cars. Probably would be the best investment for an Active Q. I'd own one before any upgrade.

This is correct, except the genuine Nissan consult will work. You need to go to a Nissan dealer for that.

And I have the PLMS cable, as it's available in Australia, and guaranteed to work, because the boards/cables are tested before shipping, and use the FTDI chip, which is known to work.Blazt cables are just PLMS boards and chips, assembled in the US.

Stick with PLMS, as you will have better after sales support here.

But there is currently no after market support for the active suspension in this field.
