Are you talking about the "nissan datascan" program from the blazt website?

It comes with a serial (or usb) cable that you plug into your laptop, then the other end goes to a plug that is in where your fuses are located. It may be hidden or have fallen down behind something, but its there. At least in the s13.

Tha actual consult thing plugs into the same place, but I think it requires a card or something. Not sure on that one.

ok so then the cable needs to be for the ka24de and software for the r33. Correct. Cause i want one really bad. Supposed to get a power fc next month. Curious to see if i'll get the same data from the fc.

wo ok the cable is for any Nissan below a certain year. http://www.blazt.com explains it all. the cable will plug into a ton of cars and read their ECUs. I've used mine on a Z32, KA S14, and my s14 RB25. BUT if you are getting a Power FC you don't want the cable because the Power FC needs another special cable, and expensive software

300Plus,

Was there anything special that you had to do to get the blaZt software communicating with your RB25? I am interested in this product, but the 25 was not specifically mentioned. The 20 and 26 were (R32-R34) but no RB 25DET. Is the software worth the $130.00? Or would you suggest just coughing up the $ to go PowerFC? Also, is your RB an S1 or S2? Thanks.

I have Blazt software and consult USB cable working in my Z31 no problem. Mine is an RB25DET S1, and all I had to do was plug it in and it worked. I will tell you straight off it is worth $130 bucks just for the pure diagnostic capability. I watch guys on these forums buy and swap out parts for no reason, when they should be getting a datalog and seeing exactly what's going on first.

I don't know how far the tuning aspect will go yet as I haven't looked into it, but I have no doubts that this software is easily capable of rivaling aftermarket ECU's.

I recommend it to anyone planning on daily driving their RB series car and doing their own work.

Dramier,

Dually noted. Thank you for the praise. I will probably be ordering the $130.00 pack in the next week or so. You should send the blaZt developers a note saying it has been tested and worked flawlessly on the S1 RB25DET so they can update their 'compatibility' chart =P Again, thanks for the info man. I shall order one promptly to have it ready before I go to crank my motor over.

Yea I def recommend the software an cable! I'm having and issue now and I would have gone through a ton of parts guessing on whats wrong, but with this software you can monitor the voltage to tons of sensors and compare with the FSM so you know they are in spec or not, check for error codes, data log a run so you can see whats going on under what ever conditions and much more. oh and I'm a series II and the software def works with it because it even gives the option to download the fuel map, and that is only an option on like 3 motors right now.

I did the wiring for my swap and basically if the consult wires were considered and wired correctly at the M63/F4 junction then you should be good to go, just plug and play. They only issues I've heard are some ppl have trouble getting there laptops to recognize the usb cable, but no one seems to have issues with the serial port, but the USB works perfect for me.

But I still say if you are def getting a Power FC in the next 3 months, then save the $130 and put it towards the FC.
