the consult tool is mainly used on obdII and mostly usdm... unless there is a JDM consult version that has RB series info in it which is the one i hope you sourced cuz thats probobly the one that would work for it ... idk much about that stuff but from my knowlege thats what i understand

well at my school i tried hooking up a consult to my s13 SR swap and i got nothing... but i think its because its a swap... meaning i had modified the harness to be used on the usdm connector from the ECU and what not... im sure if you did the same that youre probobly not gonna get simple perrameter readings and codes at all,... but i wish you the best of luck none the less

Maybe the serial cable you are using is incorrect. See what pinout the Consult needs for the cable as you may have an issue with pins 2 and 3 being crossed improperly.

what year is the ECU? I had a similar issue, and turned out it was because my ECU was too cold. I have an '89 KA24E though

zer...nsult

This tutorial explains it. Its hard to find a serial adapter that works. I finally just bought bought the other kind of cable at ecutalk. the serial adapters that work are almost as expensive as the cable it self.
