old news. Note: debuited at the 2005 auto show. its a POS, and ugly as sin. I hope nissan doesn't make it, cos then it will fail misribly, and nissan will have a sour taste in its mouth with sports cars.

New article, old news. I hope to high heaven that they don't make that fugly piece of ****. Part of the S chassis attraction to me has always been its visually unique appearance.

I seriously hope that will not the replacement of silvia/240sx/200sx....

I'd rather pay 10k more for a 350z... the new z looks way better than that!

The car in that pic...

Either way, both of those cars are ugly as sin. Is nissan doing what Pontiac did with the whole GTO, bascially old name with entirely new car??

I agree the Foria is ugly(like most new Nissans) but atleast they seem to be more seriously considering the idea. If they do decide to build an S16 hopefully they will get the styling right. Something along the lines of the S15, and bring turbo models to the USA. I don't think that's too much to ask for.

This concept thing is super gay!

Just send us an S-15 equivelant or reproduce the S-13 with factory adjustable suspension and a turbo!

I've seen it before and it seems to grow on you. Sure it doesn't look as sporty as the rest of the s-chassis series but it looks different....

You can see where the Foria drew its inspiration:

I like the Foria's CSP311-like roofline and contours. I don't like the oddball grille and headlights, and I hope they go with circular lights in the front.

Anyway, gimme a white Foria, some body-colored rivet-on flares, big black Wats, and some fender mirrors.

Auto trans= gay. at least make manual an option. and 4ws? dont most people eliminate their HICAS?

I think they should just bring those cars back exactly as they were. Fire up the old machines in the factories and release exact replicas and sell them relatively cheap because there is no more R&D involved.

I agreed with most everything on this topic until you said "no more GT-R's." The new GT-R being released in America is the best thing Nissan has done in a very long time. A hot twin turbo VQ35 in a sweet looking car. It's going to be so bada$$. I, personally, am going to crap myself the first time I see someone driving one around town.

I also do not like this car as a replacement for the S-chassis...

Honestly, i see myself buying a Z in a couple of years to drive everyday. and i just want to keep my 240sx forever...

I dont see the need for a replacement, if they do choose to make a new one, i hope it doesnt look like that Foria!!!

Is that a rear half-door that i see??? serious no-no for the S-body...

If they do bring the S-body back to america they had better send it over with a snail!!! I want stock boost dammmit!

Its not gonna happen because nissan already has 1 car in the "Doesn't look like a Maxima" niche, and that's the 350Z

I think the only shot at seeing a new 'S chassis' is if its based on the Z. The was a thread months ago about the possibilty of a QR powered 250Z. That would rock (though not as much as a 3L VQ).

Strip it down: no leather, traction control, auto A/C, or Brembos/big wheel options. Use the Z's platform, but create a simpler body. Make it more like the S13 than the S14 LE.

Isnt there a revision of the FM platform coming up soon? Perfect time to allow for a cheaper lighter model...

I think if your targa top had more of a slope towards the rear of the car it would look a lot better, kindof like if it followed the door line. Also, if the rear glass went a little higher in the first pic it would look better. I just dont see that car being RWD though, maybe make the hood longer in relation to the rest of the body?

Man i hope it doesnt look anything like that Foria conecpt. I also want to get a Z in a few years but would gladly wait a little bit longer to get a new s-body!

I really like the first blue interpretation, except I agree with PapaSmurf. The glass needs to go a little higher and the RWD proportions aren't right. Why don't you work for Nissan? You did a hell of a lot better job than they did. Don't like the targa top though. Then again, I dont like convertables or targa tops on any car. I'm a solid roof kind a guy.
